Tips

It is best to have your newborn portraits taken before they turn 2 weeks old. They curl up into cute little balls better, still have that sweet newborn look, less likely to have facial blemishes and they sleep way better.

Expect to be in studio for well over an hour, newborns need feeding and calming. I strongly suggest keeping baby awake for a few hours before your appointment so that baby will sleep good during the session. An awake newborn is much harder than a sweet sleeping one. If you want portraits of the baby awake we can wake him up toward the end.

outfits- I don't suggest lots of outfits. newborns are very small and outfits tend to look HUGE and baggy on them. one or two is fine but the rest will be done with just a diaper. for little girls bring diaper covers and bows, for little boys bring a little baseball cap or other things you would like to incorporate into a portrait. pampers swaddlers diapers tend to look best because they are plain white as opposed to a lot of the other diapers that have characters on them. ring comforter from bedding set, babies teddy, or anything else you would like.

Booking your newborn session before baby is born is ideal to get in on time... if baby decides to join us earlier or later than planned it will be easier to move your appt around.

If there is a prop that you see that you are interested in using please feel free to message me to see if it is one of mine or if a client brought it.
